What is your background? · Growing up in a private catholic school little was done to help awareness of teen pregnancy. I was taught abstinence only. Growing up in the coming of age of the new century, sexual teenagers were all around me. My friend had been with her boyfriend for a year in the middle of sophomore year. One day she pulled me over and told me she was pregnant. She did not know what to do. Eventually she left school. Trying to keep in touch I learned her parents disowned her and her boyfriend left her. She was alone and moved in a small apartment. She held two jobs and took the baby to day care. She kept the baby. As being in an apartment not suitable for a child, the baby became sick and died without being able to receive proper treatment. Now she does not speak to her parents, has received no help from the father, has two jobs with little pay, and lost her child. Her life fell apart because she was not ready for the situation or even aware of the options she had when becoming a sexual being.

All girls in rolled in high school (grades 9th – 12th) can attend government funded meeting which will:
Talk about sex and abstinence and will cover which path is right for the teenage girl
Bring about awareness of abortion and adoption
Hand out planned parenthood condoms
Teach girls how to go about receiving contraceptives other than condoms

Run through health and human services
Clinics in hospitals that teach girls about both abstinence and sex
On the governments behalf the fight against Pro-life and Pro-choice groups will be moved a step forward
Pro-life can appreciate the significant decrease in abortions
Pro-choice can appreciate the varieties of teachings (not only abstinence)
